How Are You Doing? A banal greeting between people. Right? Not according to our three brilliant speakers, who put these four words at the heart of wellbeing: a matter of great interest and concern to all of us. As one of the 33 participants put it, the event provided “important insights and rich food for thought”.
There was a definite buzz of excitement as we adjusted our seats and tuned in for the Jean Denton Lecture. The celebratory energy was strikingly equal in admiring the past, rejoicing in the present and anticipating the future. There was a real sense of collectiveness here. Together we can and do make things happen.

More than 100 IWF UK members and guests registered for the event on 28 October.
The annual IWF UK Autumn Reception is an opportunity to connect with fellow members, meet prospective members and engage in a broader discussion centred on a topic linked to the IWF UK key purpose and mission. It did not disappoint.
Members heard the fascinating stories from three published authors, Alison Maitland, Christine Brown-Quinn and Alla Bashenko, about what inspired them to write, how they learned to start writing and the efforts it requires.
