Shirley Cooper

Shirley Cooper is a Business Leader with extensive experience in delivering financial, commercial and operational leadership across private and public sectors whilst having a passion working as a Business Ambassador for various Non-for-Profit businesses that support and drive education and economic development for women.

She is the Commercial Director for Tapestry, a global law firm specialising in global HR., and a Director at Lorien Resourcing.  Previously, Director with Computacenter plcfor 12 years with a remit to lead the divisions for procuring products for resale, indirect spend, supply chain, technical engineering and quality. Before joining Computacenter Shirley held a number of senior financial positions at Yorkshire Water, Leeds Hospitals and Allied Domecq.

Shirley has also held numerous non-executive positions, including Regional Chairman of NETWORK,NED for ICIS Technology, and finance director for Opp2K and auditor for many charities.  In 1996 was appointed by the Lord Chancellor as a General Commissioner of Income Tax.  In 2005 Shirley joined the Global Board of Trustees for the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and was appointed Chairman in 2008 and President in 2010; initiated and Chairs the Fellowship for CIPS.  She Chairs a JV for Hertfordshire University and is Co-founder of Blueprint Club, for women in procurement.  Shirley was European Executive Director for WE Connect International and was subsequently on the Advisory Board for 6 years.  She is a Board Trustee and Treasurer for UNWomen NC UK.

Having qualified as an accountant she went on to gain an MBA and is now a fellow of not only CIMA but also CIPS, RSA and CILT.  She is a freeman of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists.
